Why Ongoing Compliance Matters
Registering a Cyprus company is only the beginning. Every Cyprus limited company has ongoing statutory obligations — filing annual returns, submitting VAT, maintaining proper accounting records, and having its financial statements independently examined each year, by full statutory audit or by review engagement depending on its size. Missing deadlines carries automatic penalties and can result in the company being struck off the register.
CyPRO One coordinates the entire compliance lifecycle for your company through licensed Cyprus accountants, auditors, and corporate services providers. We maintain your compliance calendar, coordinate every filing with the relevant partner, liaise with your auditor, and alert you well in advance of every critical deadline. You focus on running your business — we make sure it stays compliant.
What's Included
Annual Returns
We coordinate the preparation and filing of your Cyprus company's annual return — submitted to the Registrar of Companies by our licensed Cyprus corporate services partner — so your company remains in good standing and avoids penalty fees.
VAT Registration & Filings
We coordinate VAT registration and quarterly VAT returns with our licensed Cyprus accounting partner, who reconciles your transactions and manages any refund claims with the Cyprus Tax Department on your behalf.

Cyprus companies above the statutory threshold must be audited annually. We coordinate with a licensed Cyprus auditor (ICPAC-registered), help you gather the audit file, and ensure timely submission of audited financial statements.

Corporate Tax Returns
Your annual corporate tax return (IR4) is prepared and filed with the Cyprus Tax Department by our licensed accounting partner, including provisional tax calculations and any required interim payments. We coordinate the process end-to-end.
Key Cyprus Compliance Deadlines
Cyprus companies must meet a recurring set of filing deadlines each year. CyPRO One tracks all of these for you and ensures everything is submitted on time by our licensed accounting partner.
Deadlines are indicative. Actual dates may vary by year. CyPRO One maintains an up-to-date compliance calendar for each client company.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my Cyprus company need to be audited every year?
Not always — this changed in 2026. For financial years beginning on or after 6 February 2026, a full statutory audit by an ICPAC-registered Cyprus auditor is required where annual turnover exceeds €300,000 or total gross assets exceed €500,000. A company that stays below both thresholds for two consecutive years may instead opt for a review engagement, which is a lighter and less expensive form of assurance. Every Cyprus company must still maintain proper accounting records and prepare annual financial statements under IFRS, and those statements are still filed with the Registrar of Companies and the Tax Department each year. Your CyPRO One coordinator confirms which regime applies to your company with our ICPAC-registered partner ahead of each year-end.
When does my company need to register for VAT?
A Cyprus company must register for VAT when its taxable turnover exceeds €15,600 in any 12-month period. Voluntary registration is also possible below this threshold. Certain businesses — particularly those providing B2B services to EU clients — may need to register regardless of turnover for intra-EU VAT reporting purposes.
What is provisional tax and how does it work?
Cyprus companies are required to pay their corporate income tax in advance via two provisional tax installments — the first by 1 August and the second by 31 December of the current tax year. The installments are based on the company's estimated taxable profit for the year. Underpayment of more than 25% of actual tax results in an additional 10% levy, so accurate forecasting matters.
What records do I need to keep?
Cyprus law requires companies to maintain adequate accounting records that sufficiently explain the company's transactions and allow financial statements to be prepared in accordance with IFRS. Records must be kept for at least 6 years. CyPRO One coordinates this entirely on your behalf through our licensed Cyprus accounting partner.
Can you handle compliance for a dormant company?
Yes. Even dormant Cyprus companies have filing obligations — notably the annual return and confirmation that the company has had no trading activity. We offer a streamlined dormant company compliance service — coordinated with our accounting partner — at a reduced annual fee.
How does your bookkeeping service work?
You provide bank statements and expense documentation (receipts, invoices) on a monthly or quarterly basis. Our licensed Cyprus accounting partner categorises transactions, maintains your ledger, and produces management accounts. At year-end they prepare a full trial balance and hand off to the auditor. CyPRO One coordinates the whole flow — everything is handled remotely, no need for a local office visit.
